Testimonials...
My
wife's bike ran so great after George worked on it this
week.
She
said it runs just like it did new and it hasn't run like that
in a awhile ! I
have found a new home (Unless warranty related) at
VVT. Jake C.
It was GREAT havin' new skin
on my scoot...when i rode up 74...i didn't get those scary
wobbles from the rear end, anymore, and i felt more connected
to the pavement, i could hold my groove better when i'd hit
those annoying little hoo-doos and the slurry seal. but
George also takes a couple minutes to do all those little
extras that make such a big difference, like lubing up my
zirc fittings...it's nice to know he's lookin' out for me,
even when i'm not lookin' out for myself. Geo has my back!

Bad Boys Toys
- Unfortunately, the rumor regarding the closing of Bad
Boys Toys is true. Jim Sr. called us in early September
to let us know that they would be closing on or about
September 15th. He and Linda have some heavy family
responsibilities that necessitated the closure. Keep them in
your thoughts and prayers. One good thing is that Jr. is
on his way to San Diego to work for Cycle Vision - they
made an offer that just couldn't be passed
up!!
ASMI Class Update -
Please read... October 15th is the
cut off date for pre-registration for both the Basic and
Advanced Bystander Assistance Courses. The fee goes up $5 for
each class on October 16th. The Basic course will give you
the tools you need to secure the scene of
an accident, safely move an injured rider, provide Rescue
Breathing, safely remove a full-faced helmet if necessary, and
more. The Advanced course takes all you've learned in the
Basic course and takes you to the next level. Backboarding,
lifting a bike off an injured rider, provide more assistance
to responding EMT's and more. If you ride, especially with a
group, would you please consider taking one or both
courses?? Here's a couple of new
testimonials regarding the class:
*I was
told by one of the paramedics that I did a great job and she
could tell I had some training. I can't tell you how much the
accident scene management class helped me. I was able to take
charge and know what to do. I would have been lost without the
training you provided.
*I
couldn't believe how clear my thoughts were and how I
remembered everything right away. Thanks for having the dream
to build a network of trained riders ready to respond to a
downed rider.
The
flyers are available on our website to download, just go to
the Rides and Events calendar
page.
Latest News from the
MRF
The US House passed the Health Insurance
Restrictions and Limitations Act of
2008 (HR 6908) last week. This bill, as previously reported by
theMotorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF), would force
insurance providers todisclose up front, in writing, any activity they
are unwilling to providefull payment for an injury sustained while
participating in said activity.
Currently the insurance providers need only refer
to the federal loopholeknown as the "source of injury exclusion
provision" to limit payment forany injury based on the source of the injury.
The bill passed with unanimous consent by the US
House and is now being considered by
the US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and
Pensions (HELP). The Senate has
passed legislation that was farther reaching than HR 6809 in a previous Congress so
the outlook remains bright but time
is running short.
Congrats to Denise Goolsby of the
Desert Sun Denise has been promoted and is
now a "roving reporter" with the Desert Sun. She gets to run
all over the desert covering all the breaking news! She'll be
sorely missed by all of her Indio friends...
