Please
don't wait until the last minute to put new tires on
your bike if you're going to Sturgis.
Check your tires now to
see if you need fresh rubber under you before you go. The old
"Abe Lincoln" trick works! Hold a penny
with Abe's head at the top. Insert the top edge above Abe's
head into the shallowest (most worn) part of the tire tread.
If the tread just reaches the top of his head
or less, then get yourself some new tires right away,
please!

Valley Rider News – July 16, 2008
Happy Ride to Work Day!!
Phase Change Vests - We've got em -
finally!!!! Looking for a way to stay really cool
on your bike and extend your time in the saddle? Come in and
try on a Phase Change vest. The all cotton vest has 4 pockets
(2 in front, 2 in back) that you slide frozen gel packs into.
Andy R. says the packs stay cool for hours...he
loves the vest...and so do we. Standard vest in L-XL with set
of 4 gel packs is $119.95, and the one with a built in
hydration system is $152.95 Need more convincing that these
things really work? We've just outfitted 8 of the local CHP
helicoptor pilots in them - their A/C is less than reliable
and they don't get to an altitude that cools them
off!!
