TXR for HD Touring Models - a customer
review.... Value of
the TXR If you own a H-D FLH you
owe it to yourself to try the TXR. I was amazed
the difference in the turns that the TXR made on
my Road King. The best way to describe it; it
was like going from standard steering to
power steering. Don't take my word or George's
for it, give it a try. With his total
satisfaction guarantee you have nothing to
lose. You won't be sorry, I know I
wasn't!! Don B. Retired Fire

Accident Scene
Management, Inc Basic & Advanced Bystander Assistance
Courses coming back to the Coachella Valley. Please take this
class!!!
Valley V-Twin and the City of Indio are once
again hosting these two very important classes in
November.
If you've ever wondered what to do at the
scene of a motorcycle accident, you won't wonder anymore.
You'll walk out knowing how to secure the scene - both for
your safety and the downed rider, learn how to provide
immediate care including safely moving the injured,
removing a full-face helmet & provide rescue breathing if
necessary, and learn how to assist EMT's when they arrive on
the scene. The first 5 to 15 minutes at the scene of an
accident are critical for the survival of the injured - learn
what to do!!
Class size is limited for both classes and
flyers are available on our website for more information.
Twenty two riders took the Basic class in May and each
and every one of us were amazed at the knowledge we were
given. Whether you ride solo (ASMI believes that the first
person to arrive at a motorcycle accident scene is
usually another rider) or with a group, the Basic Course
is a "must do".
If you were one of the 22 who took the
Basic Course in May, please consider taking the Advanced
Course - it is FAR more hands on (Denise has already told us
we have to have a backboard and a wrecked motorcycle
available for the class) and makes us even more valuable to
the responding EMT's.

Valley Rider News –
September 3, 2008
September 11 - Patriot
Day Debra Ahlers from the Community
Blood Bank of the Desert sent a reminder email to us about
this very important day. On Thursday,
September 11th, 2008, an American flag should bedisplayed outside
every home, apartment, office, and storein the United
States. Every individual should make it their
dutyto display an
American flag on this seventh anniversary of one of
our
country's worst tragedies. We do this to honor those who lost
theirlives on 9/11, their
families, friends and loved ones who continueto endure the pain,
and those who today are fighting at home andabroad to preserve
our cherished freedoms.
Leslie at
the Sears Portrait Studio in Palm
Desert asked us to plug their "Bad to the
Bone Baby" event. The event runs Sept 20th-26th at their
Westfield Shopping Mall location. If you've got kids or
grandkids that you'd like photos of in a "biker" setting, this
is for you. We're loaning biker jackets and vests, 10 West is
loaning a bike, but she's looking for other "biker" type props
as well. Know anyone with a mini chopper that would loan
it?? Call Leslie at 760-346-2040 for information or to
make an appointment.

News from Tyke of ABATE Local
36 Harley-Davidson
Motor Company is recalling 47,500 2008 FLHP, FLHPE, FLHR,
FLHRC, FLHRSE4, FLHT, FLHTC, FLHTCU, FLHTCUSE3, FLHTP, FLHX,
and FLTR model motorcycles. These recalled Harleys may
experience a loss of fuel pressure due to a cracking of the
fuel filter shell. A loss in fuel pressure could lead to
stalls and failure starting. Stalling in traffic can result in
crash and injury for the rider. Harley-Davidson dealers
will replace the fuel filter shell for free beginning on or
before August 4th. To locate a Harley dealership near you for
a replacement fuel filter shell, Harley owners should call
